          Field Service Technician

          Reports To: OSP Manager

          GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
          Coordinate and perform installation, maintenance, and repair of Amplex internet services. 

          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
          Install, maintain, and repair internet, VOIP, and other services at customer locations.
          Mount equipment in homes, barns, and other properties.
          Run cables in a neat, safe, and professional manner through attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
          Assist customers with internet and router setups to ensure seamless service.
          Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations.

          EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
          A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role. A background in service, labor, or customer service is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.

          WORK ENVIRONMENT
          The job is a physical demanding position working outdoors in the local community.  Must be able to work in all weather conditions and be able to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and safely use a ladder. Must be able to lift/ carry up to 75lbs. Ability to lift, push, carry and pull supplies/tools/equipment. Must be able to wear composite work boots and other personal protective safety equipment.

          Fiber Splicer



          Department: Fiber
          Reports To: Fiber Construction Manager

          GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
          Coordinate and perform splicing of fiber optic cables in the field.

          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
          Splice fiber optic cables per industry standard.  Construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage and sealing.
          Perform routine maintenance. Recognize and repair route issues including clean-up of area.
          Support project timelines, inspections, and provide splice documentation/ field notes as needed.
          Communicate with Fiber Design Team about any issues due to field environment/discrepancies.
          Ability to update documentation into Fiber software.
          Maintain safe work habits and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
          Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.  CDL preferred.
          Ability to be part of the on-call rotation for emergencies.
          Other duties as assigned.

          EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
          One year experience in fiber splicing or construction.  A degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electric engineering preferred. Strong computer skills with knowledge of CAD or other systems. Understanding of technology-based services, products, and networking. Ability to read and understand fiber design/ system prints and maps.  Experience working safely with a boom/bucket truck, ladder, fiber trailer, various hand tools and power tools, and various test equipment. Must be able to safely operate vehicles and trailers.

          ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES
          Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations safely, efficiently, and effectively.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions including written, oral, diagram or map/print form.
