          Position: Traffic Controller 
          Department: Fiber
          Reports To: Construction Manager

          GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
          Manage the flow of traffic to ensure the safety of construction sites, workers, and the public.

          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
          Direct traffic around construction zones to ensure smooth flow while maintaining safety standards for yourself, the crew, pedestrians, and vehicles.
          Communicate clearly with drivers, pedestrians, and site personnel to ensure proper and safe traffic management.
          Monitor traffic patterns and adjust signal systems or barriers to prevent congestion or accidents.
          Ensure all safety protocols are being followed, including the correct use of signage, flagging equipment, and protective gear.
          Provide support to crew members and report any safety hazards immediately.
          Assist with setup and tear-down of traffic control devices and barriers.

          EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
          High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   

          LANGUAGE
          Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instruction, and procedure manual.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively in person with other crew members and public drivers. 

          PHYSICAL DEMANDS
          Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs at one time, ability to stand and walk on pavement for extended periods. 

          WORK ENVIRONMENT
          The work environment is outdoors in extreme high and low temperatures and all forms of precipitation. This is a year round position with conditions varying from season to season.

          Position:  Fiber Construction Manager
          Department: Fiber
          Reports To: Fiber Engineering Manager

          GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
          Coordinate  and supervise outside fiber construction and fiber network projects.

          ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
          Supervise all fiber construction crew employees including Fiber Installation technicians.
          Oversee OSP fiber network projects in coordination with Fiber Design team and other team members.
          Oversee both aerial and underground construction: installations, trenching, bridge crossing, splicing, termination, conduit, handholes, vaults, and cabinets.
          Oversee and support restoration methods for routine and emergency conditions such as fiber damage, power failures, and other issues.
          Supervise new plant construction and modification of existing plant as needed.
          Perform inspections to verify design adherence, identify maintenance requirements, and safety protocol.
          Assist with ordering supplies for construction and ensuring crews have needed materials.
          Forecast a budget for equipment, tools, training, safety and industry requirements.
          Responsible for managing project expenditures, progress reports and recommending solutions to management.
          Select, schedule, and coordinate with contractors or other 3rd parties as needed.
          Ensure the safety of the OSP employees and maintain safety policies and procedures.
          Familiarity with CAD, GIS and other systems to correctly understand construction plans. Must understand outside plant techniques and standards.
          Assist with field work as necessary.
          Maintain accurate documentation.
          Other duties as assigned.

          EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
          Prefer 2-year degree in technical/ construction field or equivalent experience.  At least 1 year in previous supervisor/ management/ project management position. Experience in fiber construction is a must. 

          LANGUAGE
          Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to write reports and correspondences and speak effectively with all levels of internal and external customers. Ability to complete assigned tasks effectively and efficiently. Capability to think logically, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. (Documentation as needed) Proficient use of computers,  tablets, smart phone, and other technology for remote access for construction data and communication with external and internal customers. Time management, multi-tasking, dependability, and detail-oriented abilities are a MUST.

          PHYSICAL DEMANDS
          Ability to lift 75 lbs. Able to safely operate a variety of construction equipment including but not limited to forklift, trencher, backhoe, bucket truck and other vehicles.  CDL preferred. Ability to crawl, stoop, kneel, walk on uneven terrain. Wear appropriate personal safety equipment.

          WORK ENVIRONMENT
          The work environment is outdoors in extreme high and low temperature and all forms of precipitation. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop & laptop computers, tablets, phones, copier, scanner, etc.
