Title: Billing Specialist

Classification: Hourly, Full-time, Non-exempt

Reports to: Accounting Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides office support in a variety of clerical and billing related activities. This position will be responsible for answering incoming calls, mail distribution, assisting with billing and customer service calls, provide error-free billing and invoicing for customers, handling cash payments and processing customers checks appropriately and accurately, greeting incoming customers and visitors, assist in maintain a safe work environment and any additional duties requested.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Receives, sorts, and forwards incoming mail to appropriate employee/ department.
  2. Posting payments and sending invoices for customers’ accounts accurately.
  3. Handling of cash payments and maintenance of petty cash accurately.
  4. Maintaining main lobby and front desk area to ensure clean, organized appearance to customers and guests.
  5. Answer billing and customer service calls. (Troubleshoot and solve customers’ issues/ concerns.)
  6. Ensure customers are aware of their outstanding debts by making collection calls or sending collection letters.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 1-2 years’ experience as billing specialist.
  3. Must be able to adhere to laws and best practices in regard to customers and data.
  4. Excellent customer service skills.
  5. Working knowledge of Excel and proficient computer skills
  6. Excellent communication including phone skills/ manners
  7. Comfortable dealing with numbers and processing financial information.
  8. High degree of attention to details and accuracy.
  9. Must be able to work independently but also be a team player.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  1. Experience with billing software systems.
  2. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.  Must be able to multi-task and meet necessary deadlines consistently.
  3. Understand spreadsheets, charts, and technical manuals.
  4. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication); Ability to convert units of measure.
  5. Able to maintain confidentiality.
  6. Reliable and dependable.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to work in an office environment. Typically working 8a-5pm M-F, when office is open.
Physical requirements

Most work can be accomplished from a standard computer workstation.    Ability to operate a keyboard and other input devices is required.  Ability to view displays and computer output is required. Must be able to lift boxes of up to 25 to 50 pounds

Technical Support Specialist  -  2nd shift:  2pm to 10pm

Provide support for Amplex customers and installers over the phone and in person.

Reports To: Call Center Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take technical support calls from customers and provide customers with satisfactory resolutions
  • Take technical calls from installers and provide installers with information and facts to support their work in the field
  • Working knowledge of billing systems, scheduling, network monitoring, trouble ticket software
  • Monitor all in house systems you have been given access to in order to resolve any problems and/or potential problems of the services provided by Amplex
  • The ability to work flexible hours and required to work as part of an On-call rotation

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience  Preferred Associates Degree in Information Systems Technology or similar.

LANGUAGE

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instruction, and procedure manual.  Ability to write routine reports/tickets and correspondence.  Ability to speak clearly and effectively on the phone and in person with customers and installation techs.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts/percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The job requires sitting at a desk for over 75% of an eight hour day.  The job requires close vision in order to view a monitor and the ability to type.  Normal in office lifting, pushing and pulling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is indoors within a personal office cubical.
